Thank you, Jonathan. Happy Midsummer. It sounds like a lovely day over there. Here on the flip side we woke up to a thick frost and -5 degrees, but the sun came out and it's been just perfect. Inside with the fire burning now.
Now that frosty day sounds like the default here :) But yeah it is flourishing, the crows are happily ganging around the forest and everything is blooming everywhere. Just lovely.
Loved the piece you did, as I mentioned before (maybe) I'm a sucker for any prehistory and this was such a good follow up to your last one about the Aboriginal library. I really appreciate the recording too, very professional :)
Hi Alia! You prompted me to flex my mind and dig out a 63-year-old hardboiled crime novel from my paperback book collection. It’s called The Seven Sisters and it just might be the most recent iteration of the world’s oldest story. I’ve posted a Note about it, including photos of the front and back covers, as well as a little bit about the author, the cover artwork and the book. I probably read this book in about 2000, shortly after I stumbled across it at a thrift store or a block sale. (BTW, “Captain” is local jargon for Captain Morgan Rum, and you’re absolutely right, it’s distilled, eye-watering and delicious from a baby bottle or any other container that’s handy!)
They chase men because it’s their livelihood, but they are being sought by a private investigator who’s trying to stop them from getting murdered. And before I forget, my wife listened to your narration of your latest post and she just ate it up. She thinks you sound like Dame Helen Mirren, another divine lady.
We won’t tell Bonnie Jean how you butcher the King’s English. We’ll just let you two girls bask in the warmth (probably appreciated for you this time of year Down Under) of your mutual admiration.
Alia that was brilliant! Thanks so much. I’ve just sat in the sun on midsummer day dreaming of 100 thousand years of stories! Brilliant

It's good to know it sounded professional because I had a sick kid on my lap and I had to edit out all the coughs 😂 Thank you!
I may have a bit more Aboriginal history coming next month following our camping trip to Mungo NP and Budj Bim. Two very interesting places.

Love it! Do the seven sisters get chased by a man, too?
Ahhh, yes, Captain. I do enjoy a rum, particularly in chocolate 😋 Although I haven't had any in years.

Oh your lovely wife is too kind. My Aussie accent murders the Dame's voice, but once again, it's such a lovely compliment, I'll take it 😂
